Looks to be for a great cause just wondering how the food is? Might not be the point but I thought I would throw it out there.

Never been, but I really, really love Castroville. Bet it will be excellent.

I love the $7 huge jar of artichoke hearts we got on our last run through the town. One can never have too many artichoke hearts nor too many capers I say.

I am even ready to dust off my hoary Peg Bracken I Hate to Cook Artichoke Chicken casserole recipe from the 1960s which was as grrrr-may as it got in those days.

Yes, I bet an albacore feed would be great. Hope someone lets us know next year when it is coming up.

But the deep fried artichokes were just meh. Try it once, gorge on fat-overkill and check it off the culinary bucket list.

Where'd you get the $7 jar of artichoke hearts? I must admit I've never explored Castroville as usually motoring through to points beyond.

I've had good lengua tacos at the market/liquor on the ocean side of the main st a few yrs back.
