Dock and Dine Closing-Rebuilding

Dock and Dine will close again tonight (Oct. 30). The building damaged by storm Sandy will be torn down and replaced by a new restaurant (on stilts!) hopefully able to withstand the ravages of nature, hopefully planning to reopen next year.

They are holding an on-site auction Nov. 5 to sell off memorabilia and hunks of the old building. For info, see Adams Auctioneers//Appraisers,

  1. Thanks so much for the information. We knew a previous owner, and have eaten there on and off over the years. We'll be at that auction.

    1. Their plans for rebuilding this summer fell through when government Hurricane Sandy relief funds took too long to obtain. They now hope to have financing from the state and private sources by this fall.

As far as I can tell. Neither the local paper where I read this, nor their website mentions any change of ownership.

      1. I can remember when John Kodama and Steve Rubell were struggling with the Steak Loft in Mystic many years ago. John certainly has come a long way since then has he not.

As to what I think about state financing and private sources. Well, that's something else.
