mid-November apple picking?

vulber Oct 30, 2013 01:51 PM

trying to organize a trip for the weekend of november 17th, which i realize is pretty late in the season. called swanton pacific, who said they couldn't guarantee any apples past the weekend of the 10th. pretty sure i've already looked into any other possible options, but was wondering if there might be somewhere i've missed that'd be open that late.....

Not picking, more like selecting what you want of the apples that are ripe is Walker Apples in Graton. They're going to be open until December. They have, inter alia, Arkansas Black and Pink Lady apples.

thanks. don't think i can get everyone to go that far for apple "selecting", though. (though they will still have apples).

Don't be daunted by the long single lane road. I love going up Upp to the storage area. Get a box which makes the apples less than $1 per pound.

I stopped by Twin Hill Ranch today to buy (frozen) apple cider. The place was hopping with u-pick customers. I asked a staffer how much longer they'd have u-pick. She said they expected to continue next weekend, but it was so busy today, maybe not. She said to call first. Apples still available for picking are Jonagold, Fuji, and Golden Delicious. They're $2/lb.
