I thought the Pizza Cones were cool - pizza topping in mini waffle cones - real smart.

Loved the potato kugel - turns out they were selling the machine that makes the kugel, not the kugel itself.

I am not in the food business, just a consumer, my daughter is more into it so I tagged along for the eats. Did two passes, the first one being milechig, the next fleishigs. Walked away full with a bag of goodies :)

Koval Distillery had an interesting array of Whiskeys.

Local Choice also had an interesting array of flavored vodkas and rum.

Premier Tasty Meats - They were serving a smoked brisket that was really good along with their smoked spicy texas sausage and beans, that was really good.

Kol Foods - They had a chef cooked silver tip on a griddle. I know I've read about their meat on the CH and the great reviews. Finally got to taste it, and all it had on it was some salt, pepper, and a little maple syrup. One of the most flavorful pieces of meat that I've had in a long time.

Happy Hearts Wine - They were serving a whole range of wines and a number of higher end wines from Domaine Ventura, Hevron Heights, Tabor.

If you are ever in Chicago Koval gives tours of the distilery and you can sample and purchase all of their products.

If you take the tour @ Koval or you take their Whiskey workshop, as I did via a Groupon half off offer, they give you a discount on all their products when you purchase them right after the tour or workshop (before you leave). Mine was 20% at the time. BTW, if you check their blog, they put out a limited edition of Pawpaw liquer last spring. I'm hoping that they'll have another run of Pawpaw this year, too.

It lost it's love after splitting from the larger Food & Hospitality convention in midtown. I gave up on goin a few years back. So nu, who were these 3-4 new vendors to keep an eye out for?

What is a chocolate roll that you carve? Is that a cake that you slice? Or is it some other texture/material?

The Orange and 10 Year Whisky was fantastic.
