Any thoughts on cooking classes in NYC

We are going to NYC in december and although I love the eating, shopping and theater, thought that it would be interesting and fun to do a cooking class. Any thoughts? I'm pretty adept in the kitchen so no beginning classes

  1. You can check Bouley, they occasionally have classes but I don't have their schedule.

    1. I have enjoyed every class I have taken at the Institute of Culinary Education. The knife skills class was great, even though I thought of myself as an experienced home cook when I took it.

      1. Eataly offers a number of classes, this is their posted schedule:

        1. Chesk out CourseHorse for the days you'll be in town:

          1. Institute of Culinary Education really varies based on the teacher. Some are great, some are eh. The facilities could use some updating.

For something uniquely NY, check out Pizza a Casa pizza school. It's worth the cost, and if you're like me, you'll basically be done with eating for the day post-class. http://pizzaschool.com/

Lastly, my favorite for consistent, unique offerings and great set up goes to Astor Center. Most of the classes are booze focused, but there usually is an interesting variety. http://www.astorcenternyc.com/
