Hello all,

I am part of a group new mom's and want to organize a causal drink and dinner out in Berkeley.

There will be about of us on a Friday around 6:30pm and hoping to find a place that has parking nearby will not be too crowded and will be okay with a group.

My first thoughts were Cesar or Five both both can get pretty crowded.

Paisan on San Pablo might work. They have an enclosed, covered/heated patio in the back that is quieter than inside and can accommodate a group of 6. There is also off-street parking behind the restaurant.

Comal may be just what you are looking for. Unfortunately, reservations are only for 5:30, then first come, first served. Good food, good service, nice ambiance. Just a few steps from main Berkeley BART station.

Comal would be perfect, as long as you can do 5:30.

Have you tried Gaumenkitzel on San Pablo near University? I don't know if they take reservations, but they easily accommodate groups of your size. The space is very pleasant, and the food is good, with a nice variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian.
