Thanksgiving Takeout for 2?

chuckles Oct 28, 2013 11:40 AM

Are there any restaurants where I can order a prepared Thanksgiving meal for just two people? (Silver Lake / Hollywood area?)

    Check with Gelson's Market.

Thanks for the recs -- I think either Joan's on 3rd or Auntie Em's may be the winner!

Auntie Em's in Eagle Rock. Their Thanksgiving menu is on their website now. $35 per person plus you can add extra sides or dessert.(the chipotle pumpkin soup is awfully good as are the pumpkin cupcakes) We had it several years ago and the portions are extremely generous. We had food for two for two days!

I think the Tam o'shanter has done that in years past.

last year we got an uncooked whole prime rib from lawrys and it was a hit. Came with a large container of dark au jus and other stuff. you can get it cooked too it you like.

those individual dinners are amazingly reasonable. if we don't cook at home I think I might have to go this route.

Further west than SL/Hyd, but we've mentioned other places:

The Main Course, on the north side of Pico in Rancho Park. Known for their complete turkey dinners, all year round, with a large percentage of their business take-out as well as cafeteria-style dine-in. They STILL proudly post a laudatory recommendation from Elmer dills that has to be 30 years old, and I confess that I haven't been in this decade. But they must be doing something right to still be in business. It is exactly what you want and will be considerably less expensive than some of the others mentioned. Can't imagine they wouldn't be open for Thanksgiving/Hanukah, but call ahead.

The Main Course turkey dinner appears to be $13.95, with a 10% discount for pick-up.

This is one of the few places in LA where I'd order the meal....it's guaranteed to be great.
