Bageriet, Covent Garden, London

I loved the brittle crackly pastry base below the pillowy brioche. Baked into the top are mushrooms and a nutty cheese, with a lovely onion marmalade bring savoury and sweet flavours.

Also fantastic was the vanilla and cardamom cream filling in a light bun with a texture reminiscent of St John's donuts.

        I think it's been open for a while -- to be honest I haven't been that up-to-date. They have a few sandwiches and salads, as well as various breads and pastries. Would be interesting to sample more.

          Only opened since April - I seemed to have missed it during my last trip to London. I'd always *loved* the Swedish Prinsesstårta - it was a schoolboy treat for me during my growing up years in Perth, Australia: Miss Maud's Swedish bakery there makes the *best* ones I'd ever had

          I wonder how Bageriet's version measure up?

      2. I stopped in here today as I was in the area. It's a very sweet little shop with lots of interesting things to try. The biscuits looked as good as the ones we get in Brussels.
