Sumptuous brunch in Sarasota, St. Pete or Tampa

After a dozen years of celebrating, with just the girls, at the Sunday brunch at the Vinoy, we were saddened that they are no longer offering a buffet at brunch.
I am coming from Boston to celebrate with my family and would love to learn what you folks think might be a good alternative.
What we loved about the Vinoy brunch was: beautiful room, exquisite service, variety of food (from eggs to shrimp to roast lamb), lovely desserts, continual orange juice and champagne.
Your thoughts?
TIA

  1. Oyster Catchers at the Grand Hyatt should fit what you are looking for. It's just over the Courtney Campbell on the Tampa side of the bay.

I second Oyster Catchers - amazing brunch, gorgeous views of the Bay, great seafood and unlimited mimosas...what's not to love?

      2. Jackie's on Corey just opened up in St Pete Beach a few months ago and while I haven't been the brunch is getting rave reviews.

        1. Ritz in Sarasota not too shabby.

          1. I also am saddened with the vinoy brunch change, and haven't been there since the change. But, the room is so beautiful that I wonder if a menu vs a buffet will make that much of a difference. How much can you eat at one sitting? The service has always been so wonderful.

            1. I have been twice to the Sunday brunch across the street from the Vinoy, at 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House. The price is lower, and perhaps not quite as sumptuous, but the service was excellent and the people watching first rate. You can sit outside or in, and yes they have unlimited champagne!

              1. FYI about oystercatchers. They have now gone to yellowtail bubbles as there brunch 'champaign'.....
