Wendy's (No Coke)

  • 7

This afternoon I went to a local Wendy's drive through to pick up lunch.
When I order a combo meal I found out they were out of Coke. To me this was strange and the possible sign of a badly run operation. My mom years ago told me of a Chinese restaurant that ran out of rice. Maybe this is something akin to this.

  1. There was this chicken place (basically a Nandos rip off) near me that actually ran out of chicken. Closed a few months later.
    Funny that.

    1. Things happen. Machines break, deliveries get delayed, a bus load or high school kids can drain a machine, etc. I wouldn't read too much into a one time issue. Was everything else ok?

Everything else was fine. The Baconator was good and I still have a little bit of the Sprite I ordered instead.

A few months ago, I saw 2 full busloads of college athletes pull up to a Hometown Buffet. If they didn't call ahead, I am betting that place ran out of food pretty quickly. Things happen.

        2. I can get being out of a type of soft drink. Now if they were out of all soft drinks, that is a problem.

I've seen it. The soda machine was down, they were not out of syrup.

          2. I can't help but think of "Pepsi!" when I see the title of this thread. As if Wendy's had been taken over by a John Belushi character. "No Coke! Pepsi!"

Still, I think this happened because the franchise operator was trying to save money by keeping stock on hand at a minimum.
