Austin: Recent Eats

I haven't had a chance to write these up, but these are two places we're adding to our repertoire:

La Traviata (Great recommendation and thanks to PolloPibil and rudeboy): I was there for a recent lunch and was blown away by the quality, the authentic flavor and the knowledgeable, but professional staff. I had the Rigatoni con Proscuitto (rigatoni with cream, parmesan, peas, lemon zest and proscuitto), after enjoying their light Mista Salad. This is Italian food that compares, if not exceeds to what we've had in New York, Baltimore and Paris.

Vivo: A group of us went to this place on a balmy afternoon, and enjoyed a lunch on the lush garden patio. With an oasis-like retreat and the sun gently shining, this was one of the better patio dining experiences I've had in a long time. We didn't sample the margaritas, but they looked fabulous! I had a yummy guacamole puffy taco (excellent, non-greasy) and a veggie enchilada. Everyone at table was pleased with their dishes as well. Also, the salsa was refilled frequently.

  1. Didn't see this before - I'm glad that you liked La Traviata. We are going again soon as a treat with our garage sale earnings. I'll try Vivo ASAP...
