A great site for you BBQ, Smoking, & Grilling questions

THoey1963 Oct 23, 2013 10:28 AM

I found the following site when looking for answers on grilling something. Thought I would share as there is a lot of knowledge there. They are also quick to respond to questions. Not trying to take away from this new forum on Chow, but to add to the resources...

I'm pretty sure this site's been linked and referred to several times on this board, but hey -- mentioning it again certainly doesn't hurt.

The problem is that there is some very good stuff, and some very questionable stuff on that site.

I'd be interested in knowing which stuff you find questionable. I know he dislikes any sort of inexpensive horizontal box smoker, but I've made some good BBQ out of mine.

Now, of course, I've stepped up my game recently. : )

        With what do you disagree?

Just off the top of my head, cold smoking. Shows a complete lack of knowledge and says it is very dangerous.

Their site says they have been around since 1995...it looks like they are still running the same forum program from then also.

          LoL

I used to post on that site circa 95. I'm kind of surprised it's still around. There used to be lots of other competitors there. I met a few of them, all were great fun. And they provided tons of great info.

            Thanks for the reminder byrd.

This one is great for Big Green Egg owners:

I've made some good friends through this forum, and got my band hired to play two local annual Egg Fests through it.

The two big ones I have used are The Smoke Ring and BBQ Bretheren.

I do like a lot of the articles posted off of there. Don't necessarily agree with every single thing listed, but its been a fun read.
