BBQ in Amarillo

Proko Mar 8, 2005 02:30 PM

Hi - Passing through Amarillo from Dallas this week. We're looking for some good BBQ during the lunch hour. We went to Dyer's last year...pretty good, among the best ribs I've had in a long time! My plan is to stop by Dyer's (off Georgia & I-40 in Wellington Square) unless you guys can give me a heads-up of something else we may enjoy more??

Other spots that have come up during my search, but I've never been. How do they compare to Dyer's:

- Doug's (Georgia & 34th)
- Country Barn (I-40 & Loop 335)
- Jerry's Pit BBQ (900 S Tyler)
- Cattle Call (I-40 & Coulter, Westgate Mall)

Thanks for your advice!

Tyler's on Paramount is easily the best in Amarillo now.

Cattle Call would be second to Dyer's, in my opinion. I did try the Country Barn my last trip. I will not go back. My favorite would be Dyer's.

Thanks for your opinion! I think we will just head to Dyer's; it's pretty frickin' good to begin with....
