Which restaurant should my husband and I go to for my birthday lunch? 15 East or Nobu?
Thanks for any advice!

I am not a fan of either-try Ma Peche instead!

Ma Peche, while very good, does not serve sushi. I think that's what the OP is looking for?

I'd say definitely 15 East, but only if you get a reservation at the bar with Masa.

Depends on what you want. Sushi, then 15 East. If not sushi, despite the Nobu bashing that goes on, I have had many many good meals there. The key is knowing what to order. There are some duds on the menu, but I never get enough of the rock shrimp tempura in creamy spicy sauce. There are several dishes that originated at Nobu which are now copied and on menus all over the place. These are best sampled in the original form.

Thanks for the help. We definitely wanted sushi. I was thinking Nobu because it might have more of a lunchtime scene. But a really amazing sushi lunch would definitely beat a 'scene' any day. :)

En Japanese Brasserie is good, but it's hardly where I would send someone for sushi...

I was comparing it to the Nobu choice. It's similar in terms of vibe and food but better than Nobu imo.

Sushi-wise Nobu is not even in the same league as 15 East. (nor is En)
