The Real Butcher Shop [Santa Fe]

Has anyone been to The Real Butcher Shop in Santa Fe? It has just opened and is located next to La Montanita Coop on West Alameda. From what I hear from food people in Santa Fe, it's all heritage/grassfed/organic meats and chicken. I believe it is owned by the people from Pollo Real Chicken, the only organic chicken growers in New Mexico to my knowledge. Their website has very little information, but they do have a Facebook page.

Yes, I saw their Facebook posts yesterday. They open sometime in November. Santa Feans say it's taken a l-o-n-g time. This is New Mexico--goes with the territory :-)

    2. You are correct, the person who is doing the actual renting and building of the space is the Pollo Real chicken/goose/duck/turkey guy from the Farmers Market, Also, I hear the guy who has the Red Mesa Meats booth will be a supplier, and the the Pollo Real folks told me they have someone who will supply heritage pork. Said the building they rented had faulty wiring, there was a fire, problem with building inspector, etc. etc. They've been trying to open for almost a year now Soon.... very soon....

Aha. That's what happened. I have been getting our grass fed meats from Kretsingers in Colorado but they don't carry chicken, etc. and I don't go to the Farmer's Market. I believe the Coop carries Pollo Real but that's out of the way for me.

        Looking forward to their opening!
