Fork and Marigold tasting menus

alex1018 Oct 21, 2013 12:45 PM

Hey everyone--

Has anyone done the $110 10-ish course tasting menu at Fork? I'm interested to know how many of the courses are off-menu.

Also, does anyone have a photo set from a recent meal at marigold kitchen? I'd like to see what they are up to before committing to a meal.

Due to an alcoholic haze do not remember if items are off menu at Fork, but do not think so, come on PhillyBestBYOB help me out, but certainly do remember when there price was $15-25 less than that, and they had no duck available.

I know they have one from on-menu that is 85ish... but last time i was there i saw the 10-course one for the first time, so i was curious.

According to my notes (what a geek!), we had 17 different items, including small bites like "fruit leather" and "celery-lime soda", so some of this might have been off-menu but I'm not sure.

$122/pp (might include coffee and dessert) + tip

We tried to get the Peking Duck as part of it, but they had already sold out (Deluca looked like a puppy dog who lost his bone), so if you want that be sure to reserve it in advance.

I was at fork recently and got the duck and a few other dishes. Most of what we had was great but a couple dishes were not very good (duck confit and dessert specifically) so I don't see a tasting menu being worth $110 given the quality and other options in the same price range or cheaper.

no photo set from Marigold, but I was completely underwhelmed. 10 courses, in under two hours and I left there not full. I don't think the price is worth the value for their tasting.
