Any Reccy's for Palm Springs thanksgiving week?

All the threads on Palm springs are a few years old and I wanted to know if there were any new places and how the old ones were faring. Also, would love any ideas for thanksgiving dinner without breaking the bank. Thanks so much!

    1. Are you staying in downtown Palm Springs, or outside?

I am staying at the desert riviera, but we can drive anywhere!

I would stick to the hotels for dinner-Citron at the Viceroy is okay, not my favorite, but good. Mr. Parkers is great, and might have a Thanksgiving happening. For a bit more casual, I like the diner at the Ace-the bacon is the best. Tylers Burgers have great burgers, and also great chicken salad sandwiches. Cheekys for breakfast. If you want to drive somewhere, the Mexican restaurant at La Quinta is great for atmosphere (although the food is kind of meh), and the Bistro at Fantasy Springs is actually really wonderful. If you like sushi I'd highly recommend Kiyosaku (close to downtown, about a five minute drive).

      2. If you're looking for great food, Palm Springs is tough. If you're looking for something that exemplifies the character of Palm Springs, try Melvin's at the Ingleside: old world service, tableside presentations, a couple of flambe's and a table still reserved for Sinatra in the back.
Similar but a bit higher end is Le Vallauris.

Melvins for cocktails is a must.

          1. We were there this past weekend. Had a mediocre dinner at Matchbox and a great dinner at Copley's. we hit Trio for lunch - food was simple, but well executed.
