Saw this while I was Williams-Sonoma this afternoon. I know there's a lot of Vitamix owners here(Myself included, though I have an old one with the original container shape).
If you have the newer, wide and shorter 64 ounce container you'll want to take a look at this and see if yours is included in the recall:
As soon as I got the recall notification, I called them and they said that they would send me a return box within two days. That was over two weeks ago and as yet I have received nothing from them. They said that I could wait a few days and they would give me the UPS tracking number.
I have called them several times, using the customer number that they gave me.... and as of today, they still don't know the box has been shipped and of course there is no tracking number.
I'm curious too, what is the gift????
Over two weeks ...that is very poor customer service and I am disappointed in them.
I will put a mark on my container before I return it .. to make sure that I get back my own back. Not that it will do me any good if I don't. Until now I have been very happy withy their customer service .. but it is ridiculous that they can't even tell me if the box was sent to me or not.
Thats weird. I got mine EXTREMELY QUICKLY. Im guessing its just human error. Its possible the representative made a typo when they took your address. I find it more reliable to type your information yourself to ensure no mistakes are made. Try sending another request here:
I actually received my return box so quickly there was no need for UPS Tracking I think I got it within 2 days of requesting. I dont remember if I was given a UPS tracking number for the box but when they were ready to send back my container, I was given one.
I just called again and they said that there had been a problem that delayed the boxes being sent and that in fact my had been shipped on 10/11/13 and I should have it on the 15th.
That's funny because I called on the 13th and they had no info... he said that after they receive it, it would probably be another 9-10 days until I get it back.
Dying to know... what is the gift???
I sent my container back around a month ago, and got the fixed one within a couple weeks.
My main concern - which I stressed to the VM rep - is that I did NOT want to get a reconfigured container that MAY not be the one that I sent in. I told them that I was concerned that someone could have a container that's been through the ringer, and mine is nearly brand new and immaculate. Here's the skinny: they are aware of this concern and have bent over backwards to make sure the container you send in is the same one you get back. They have it covered, and I did get back my container. They attach the serial number I provided and it included my name and shipping address.
I got an extra year on my warranty and they sent a gift for my troubles.
Logistics: They sent me a pre-labeled box for the return, and it didn't cost me a thing. I just dropped it off at a local UPS.
