Hi guys,

Boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Buenos Aires to celebrate a 10 year anniversary and we are looking for a killer place to eat on that special night. Any suggestions? Need not be fancy or trendy, but must have amazing food and preferably a good vibe. Thanks!

My favorite place in town is El Baqueano in San Telmo. I've written about it here. Interesting food, made with soul and served with love. Eclectic and excellent wine list, and things you won't find most anywhere else (on standard restaurant menus).

I recently ate at Aramburu, and would pass on another visit, unless someone else really wanted to go, and was picking up the tab. That said, if you're into a molecular tasting menu, the price is a fraction of what you'd pay for similar in the USA.

Pura Tierra is another option for a special meal, although I wouldn't call it "killer" nor would I call most any meal I've had in the past few years in that city "killer."

Thank you for your reply and the links imnop! Sad to hear yo haven't found the food in Buenos Aires all that impressive... last time I was there it was, but then again that was 15 years ago. Anyway, I'll definitely look into your recommendation, thanks!
