Interesting article in today's San Francisco Chronicle article about Sia, a new brand of blended Scotch whisky started by a woman with kickstarter funding.

Helps keep costs down when the founder can double as the spokesmodel.

I think I'll stick with Black Grouse at half the price.

Have you tried the Bank Note Blended Whisky produced by A.D. Rattray? Quite nice at roughly $20 per liter.

Interesting but I prefer blended scotches with a healthy dose of Islay malts - hence Black Grouse and Black Bottle

Reading between the lines in the review, sounds like a mediocre blend being sold at a premium price. There are quite a few very good single malts within $5-10, and there are quite a few small independent blenders and bottlers who put out excellent products but probably don't look as good in a low cut dress. Michel Couvreur comes to mind.

Sidney Frank was a small business venture at one time, too. I think I'll pass.
