I can't find any Chowhound reviews of the DDD spot, Anthonino's Taverna.

Any opinions in this forum?

    Good stuff. My sole complaint is that their gyro sauce is strangely sweet. And the fire pizza is fabulous. I think it's my favorite DDD spot in town. Family owned, too.

          This is semi-off-topic and probably a shot in the dark, but do you know of any independent reviews of DDD spots? Maybe a Top Ten List?

          Guy seems to love all of the DDD joints, although I'm sure some are better than others.

            You might try posting that question in the media section - or maybe someone else has some ideas. I find that several of his choices (or his producers' choices, I suspect) I've been to in various parts of the country are less than exciting. Others are great.

        I was not aware that Anthonino's was subjected to Mr. Fieri...actually I'm a fan of his.

        We were in St. Louis over Labor Day and Anthonino's was our second dinner. We had the provel/mozzerella pizza and found it interestingly delicious. The toasted raviolis were tasty, but I had ruined my appetite with a Ted Drewe's malt too close to our dinner.

        We four, representing a rather wide palate spectrum, all liked Anthonino's.

        It's open, high-ceilinged, with "boisterous" acoustics and a lot of fun.

        I'm surprised that you've not found any opinions on this board.

        Went to Milo's for a beverage after dinner, by the way. That is a cool place as well.

          Probably more of a response if they tried the board at the STL Post Dispatch. It's popular enough, as you could tell, but pretty local in its patronage.
