Where can I buy a Capon in Mtl?

I have seen large chickens on occasion at the grocery store but can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would like to roast one for Thanksgiving

  1. Fernando on Roy (southwestern Plateau) usually has them, as does Zinman on St-Dominique near Jean-Talon market, and I also saw capons this week at the Supermarché PA on Parc (they also have branches on Fort near Atwater, and on Samson in Laval).

Just thinking, very close to Volailles et Gibier Fernando is Boucherie Alim-Pôt, also Portuguese:
      20 Roy E, Montréal, QC H2W 2S6 ‎
      (514) 982-6838 ‎

They are also very good, and in general cheaper than Fernando (though the latter has more game and special poultry-based sausages). They were getting fresh turkeys in this weekend, and perhaps capons. You could always give them a call.

I don't know where you live, though.

    2. There are dozens at the PA on Fort. Prettty cheap too I think... I saw some around 13 dollars.

They are on special this week at PA for 4,39$kg/1,99lb. No shortage of them at PA on Parc either. No reason to think it would be otherwise at their Laval branch.
