Back in NYC for the weekend. Any Reco?

Hi Guys, I am coming back for the 3 rd time after leaving NY about 11 months ago. I am interested in trying Chinese, Japanese and Thai food and I was wondering if you guys have any good suggestions. I will be staying at a midtown hotel so anything close to Grand Central will help. I would prefer some place that's nicer and more comfortable and if the food is authentic, it will help too. Can you let me know? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have been to Sakagura, Soba Totto. Aburiya Kinnosuke, Hakkasan, Red Farm, and Zaab Else the last few trips....hopefully it will provide you with some idea on what I am looking for ( ie not Chinatown..haha)

  1. Near Grand Central we like:
    Mapo Tofu
    Hunan Manor
    Phoenix Garden
Jaiya a bit out of the way but walkable

    1. China Cafe is pretty good and in the area, a lot nicer of a restaurant than Chinatown joints.

Ippudo has a midtown west location now, and of course you have Yasuda as well. Kajitsu also moved to midtown.

      1. Land of Plenty on 58rd..not sure if that's too far for you.

Definitely prefer Land of Plenty over Cafe China.

Actually, Lan Sheng and Szechuan Gourmet are only a 10 minute walk from Grand Central. All are great choices.

Szechuan Gourmet is probably the best as far as Sichuan cuisine goes. What about Ma Peche, it's not too far away...

            Not at all. Thanks!

          3. Thank you all for the reco. I will check them out if time allows. These are all great suggestions. I will probably be back in a few weeks so they are good additions to my list!
