We love those restaurants but are looking for something new that is in line with Crispo and Lupa. We are staying in Chelsea but willing to take a short cab ride. Any suggestions?
Spina and Rafele are worth considering. Smaller menus than Crispo and Lupa, but equal in quality, with great pastas.
+1 for Perla and Rubirosa, though both are not terribly similar to Lupa or Crispo.
Osteria Morini may be up your alley.

When are you in town? I would recommend Maialino but they are pretty popular and tend to book up pretty fast.
