Do you realize that Midtown stretches from the East River to the Hudson River?

I had a surprisingly good breakfast this morning at Cafe Centro.

        Why was it a surprise?

Because I consider Cafe Centro to be a soulless place run by an organization of soulless restaurants.

But the food was well prepared and tasty, the service was competent, and the price was reasonable.

It's in our "hood" but we've never been drawn there.

Cafe Centro is actually my go to breakfast place in midtown - because its very convenient (I commute into Grand Central on my way to the financial district so its a good place to have a morning meeting with midtown folks), its bright and airy, the service is good, and the food is solid. Nothing earth shattering, but consistently good.

We are big fans of Scotty's on Lex. We'll have to give Centro a try.

That certainly was my experience, as well.

            Midtown West: Route 66
Midtown East: Scotty's Diner or Penelope

                Midtown is big--where in midtown?

                Weekday or weekend?

                Budget?
