Our last meal for our first-time vacation in France will be a Sunday lunch and I want it to be a good one. Every place I have checked is closed on Sunday. Any recommendations of somewhere in Avignon for a late lunch?

we will have a car but we would prefer to stay in Avignon since this is our only day in the city. but would consider something close by.

The nearby Mas de vertes Rives is a ferme-auberge nearby, serving farm-fresh food. The French ferme-auberge experience is unique, and Vertes Rives is quite good. I believe Sistereurope has written up on it for this board.

It looks like la Mirande is open on Sundays. I haven't been, but others seem to like it. There's also Hiély-Lucullus where we had a good meal this past summer, but were dismayed by the mostly empty dining room on a Saturday night.

I had a good lunch there, but that is before they lost their star, and it was in the garden which is quite idyllic. It will be interesting to hear how it's evolved.
