Tara in Upper Black Eddy

Anyone been here lately? The few online reviews I can find are positive and some a recent. It's basically a very small italian restaurant in the living room of an estate mansion.

As I do not recall ever hearing of Tara; you comment peaked my interest. Therefore I checked Trip Advisor which I find usually offers a panoply of opinions which can be regarded or discarded based on content and date. One had to go all the way back through highly complementary comments to 2008 to find a couple of negative reviews, one of which was obviously "sour grapes" and out of bounds. I will mark this as a must visit based on your inquire and opinions I have found on other sites. If you go please report back.

FYI Tara has been around forever. You will find a NY Times review of the place going back to 1981.

I was there once with my family -- probably in the early 1990's when I was still a teenager. We remember it being very good, but I wonder how it still holds up now that our tastes have evolved and we have such great access to lots of wonderful restaurants. It's just so odd how little internet presence Tara has!

And I saw that NY Times review -- I did a double take when I saw the date was 1981. I like the 1981 prices listed -- Appetizers range from $3.50 to $5.95, main courses from $9.95 to $15.95!
