What's the best Vietnamese on Dorchester Avenue these days? I've seen mentions in past posts, but it's been awhile, and I'll be in the area for dinner this weekend.

for all kinds of vietnamese (not banh mi), Pho Le and Sunrise Cafe remain my favorites.

In terms of banh mi, Banh mi Ba Le is the best overall. That fried chicken banh mi they have is amazing and I never thought I'd say that about a sandwich with chicken as the filling. There's a wallop of Maggi sauce in there that I love.
However, Chau Bakery has BY FAR the best bread of any place in Dorchester. It's airy and light and flaky, buttery in flavor. So good! The bread is so far superior to any of the other places that it kind of ruined the Ba Le banh mi for me. If only you could get Ba Le's fillings inside Chau Bakery's baguettes. I mean you could, but then you don't get the mayo and Maggi on the bread, which definitely lessens the sandwich.
