Help with restaurant selection please

  • 8

A really dear friend wants to treat us to dinner and asked us to choose...I would hate to disappoint him with a horrible meal...We would like to have a decent experience/food and not bankrupt him. We were thinking either Italian...Colosseum in Salem, Florence's in Merrimack, Piccolo in Manch, DePasqule in Candia or Mexican.. Hermandos in Concord was one I always enjoyed? Being out of the dining scene around this neck of the wood for the last couple of years, I would so appreciate downhill alerts, nods to the ones mentioned or to other places we may not know about.. Thanks so much!

It used to be a pretty good "red sauce" Italian place...The mother had a very good one in the North End..Any idea what happened? I do recall that we had a problem with a waitress with our last visit..But the food seemed ok..
And one of the few places you could get stuffed Artichokes...

      2. Colosseum isn't what it used to be. Trattoria Amalfi is much better IMHO.

I have heard this but could not remember the name of the place down the road..Thanks!

        2. I gather he likes Italian. Would he consider another cuisine because Italian is not something New Hampshire does well. The only "Italian" I like is 900 Degrees, which specializes in thin crust pizza. http://www.900degrees.com/ Otherwise, go to Republic, which is Mediterranean inspired and casual. http://republiccafe.com/
