Cloudland Farm and Pane e Salute are my favorite (costlier) restaurants in the area. Brick Oven Pi is also great and a little less expensive.

I've heard good things about Simon Pearce's restaurant

While I haven't been in about 18 months or so every meal I have had at Simon Pearce was very good. We used to go 2-3 times every winter. Their Vermont cheddar soup is one of the best I have ever had.

We like Carpenter & Main in Norwich VT. It is an annual stop when we are in the area each Thanksgiving. In fact, we plan our itinerary around it. There is a formal dining room and a more casual bar/bistro area. Not a large place and the staff has been consistent for years. Food is excellent, wine list to match. It is upmarket price wise.
