Actually anywhere on the coast from Bordeaux up to the Belgian border is moules-frites haven. There are fantastic local interpretations of the classic dish in Vendée, Brittany, and Normandy.

Dunno about the restaurant part, but we once had good takeaway moules frites (for a picnic) from a specialist moules resto near the place République and the Préfecture. Don't have time to do a google search on my phone for you at the mo but I think "Bout" was in the name.

          L'Bout d'la Rue? Moules/frites are their specialty.

I ate here recently and thought they were terrific. Cute little moules from Normandy, simple menu, nice husband-and-wife team in charge, easy enough to walk in at lunch or dinner.

It's in the historical centre, 5 min walk from the market or the ducal palace.
