Whole Foods in Savannah

Finally made it to the new store today, very very nice.
Loved the guy at the fish counter, and loved the selection of sustainably fished and farmed seafood.
Bought 2 beautiful bluefish, and a gorgeous piece of swordfish.
We'll know tonight if they taste as good as they look.
Wonderful cheese selection - I found German Tilsit, not easy to do and so so good. And goats milk Feta.
Didn't buy a lot of prepared foods, but the Allen Farms roast chicken (salt & pepper variety) is outstanding! After years of grocery store injected and flavored roast chickens I'd forgotten what good plain chicken tastes like.
This is worth the visit alone. :)
(plus the selection of Weiss beers!)

Now come on Trader Joe's!!

  1. Really really like their prepared foods very much.
From the hot line we liked the curried chicken so much! Juicy, tender, perfect blend of sweet & hot. The thai tofu salad rocks, and the quinoa edamame salad was also really good. Samosas were delicious
Their guacamole tastes homemade and is $urprisingly reasonable.
There is nothing I haven't liked about this new store!

    1. I'm waiting on Trader Joe's to come in as competition! I found a few good items. (We try to follow the Feingold diet for ADHD stepson.) I probably won't go back, as I live in the Hill and it just isn't worth it to me. Also, the smell of the prepared foods was overwhelming, actually made me sick. I was excited for it to open and if I lived closer, or didn't have to deal with Victory traffic, I'd probably shop there regularly.
