Chef Jia's [San Francisco]

surfer1966 Oct 7, 2013 11:36 AM

I noticed Chef Jia's is now closed. :-( Are there any places in Chinatown with shrimp fried rice prepared in a similar style? That was my fav place and I'm not sure where to go for fried rice now.

I like Washington Bakery's salmon fried rice. They also have shrimp fried rice, but I haven't tried it. Here's the fried rice menu:

      That's a shame. I liked Chef Jia's. I would try Henry's on Sacramento, but I haven't compared them.

Thanks for the tip! Kinda weird I took a look at their website and they only serve fried rice at lunch.

Are you sure that the "RICE PLATES (LUNCH ONLY)" refers to fried rice??

A lunch rice plate is usually white or brown rice with one of the stir-fry meat or veggie dishes as a pre-set meal-in-one, the plate equivalent of a Japanese donburi.

There are several fried rice dishes under that heading:

I called them and you can get fried rice at dinner.

But the Sacramento street location (the only one in Chinatown) closes at five.
