Heading to/from Lacrosse next weekend (from Mpls) for a fall roadtrip. Would love suggestions on favorite restaurants (both lunch and dinner) as many of the posts here are outdated. Other favorite stops (shops, sites, etc) also appreciated!

Last summer my husband and I ate lunch at the Harbor View Cafe in Pepin, WI a few times and loved it. I can't recall a whole lot of detail, just that I had a chicken dish with preserved lemons and olives that was swoontastic. The service was out of this world, too, in a casual sort of way.

+1 Harbor View Cafe. They don't open until 5 pm. No reservations. You have to get in line. Best to get there about an hour before. It's always busy.

I just read about a vineyard there that looked interesting and beautiful. I don't remember the name. I tore something out of Mpls/St. Paul magazine. I'll look for more specific information tomorrow or you can google it, if interested.

Stockholm is a lovely place to explore with some nice cafes.

Sorry. You're right. I haven't been there for a couple of years.

If you are going for dinner though, it's wise to get in line about an hour earlier. They have a lot of benches and lawn chairs.

Here is a link to the Villa Bellezza vineyard I said I would find:
