There's a feeling of fall in the air in Los Angeles, and I'm wondering what everyone's conjuring up in their kitchens? We're thinking about making some yummy soup and quick breads!

In memory of Marcella Hazan, a double batch of her Bolognese sauce.

    First attempt, ever, for me.

House already smells fabulous and the tomatoes are not even in the pot for their three-plus hour simmer.

Here in Austin...lamb with Moroccan spices, black oil cured olives, preserved lemon, and, near the end, zucchini and dried apricots, over faro.

Okay, there's still time for me to make a big pot of soup for dinner...maybe some Greek avgolemono!

A big batch of roasted veggies- fennel, parsnips, brussel sprouts, fingerling potatoes and rosemary. Some will become a soup with lentils, some served with polenta
