new vs old thermador

Hello all. Okay so in a local store there is an older model thermador 36 " all gas range. Model # PG364GLBS. The store will give me a pretty good discount on this older unit (4000). For a new similar thermador they are priced at 6500 but you get a free dishwasher, something I would be interested in bc we are redoing our whole kitchen. So my questions to anyone out there with knowledge of these ranges. Are the older models built better than the new ones? Are the new ones that much better that justify spending more money? Anyone opinions on what I should do would be appriciated.

Thank you

I bought a 10-year old Thermador from a friend. They sold it to me for less than half what it was worth, so I got a great deal. The eyes are a different shape--they don't have the star shape that Thermador is so excited about now--and yeah, it looks like it's old, but I have to tell you that I love it!

We just moved into our new house and I've been using the stove for about 4 months. It's such a workhorse. I love the evenness of the cooking, how quickly the burners heat up, and the oven is still very accurate. Plus, the convection (I'm new to convection) helps me put dinner on the table during the week when time is short. I say go for it!
