Spinasse Chefs Competing Tonight

For those who don't already know, Seattle is represented in the Top Chef New Orleans competition by our local twosome from Spinasse.

First episode airs tonight.

  1. My bad (so far?). Looks like I was misinformed, sorry.

    1. Didn't watch, but the Times had a headline the other day saying she (don't know name) formerly worked at Spinasse and is head chef for an Italian (maybe) place that is about to open downtown.

        Hi, BF:

        It was strange that I didn't see her introduced until well into the episode. Hence my post about being wrong.

        She succeeded in advancing by serving up a dish of cold poached frogs' legs, something she said she'd never cooked before. I think it was the 2nd-highest-rated dish despite the seeming yuck factor. Emeril was beaming that she "got" the prep and knew it would play well with the NOLA guests who judged. The chef from Gallatoire's didn't fare so well...

          on the Food Media thread, LindaWhit does a 'recap' of Top Chef every episode. Very entertaining, and the comments are fun too. You might check it out....:)

          I think Carrie Mashaney did great on the first episode - she is pretty telegenic as well. Hope she goes far!

          The new place is Aragona, and will be Spanish. Had a great dinner (but weak dessert) at Spinasse a few days ago, looking forward to Aragona.
