Wegman is coming to Montvale but it looks like we have to wait at least 2 years or so.

There is an earlier thread on the topic, you can read it here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/900399

FYI, that article was published over a year ago. There hasn't been much news since then.

I think there is going to be a Wegman's opening in Teterboro.

The Record reported that Wal Mart and Costco are likely for Teterboro. I never heard Wegmans mentioned. Nor does that seem like an area that would interest them.

Walgreens Walmart Weis Wegmans Wawa. Easy to get them confused.

Ebchower - no, I didn't get confused though you are right that the names could be confusing to some.

I don't live in the area, but, friends do and I remember a while ago they mentioned Wegman's might be coming in. I would think that The Record would have it right and I agree that that area would not be interest to them.

I found an interesting article on NJ.com, from earlier this summer, with the headline "ShopRite company sues to overturn approval for Wegmans in Hanover". So it looks like things might not be happening all that soon, which stinks. I was looking forward to a nearby Wegmans.

Shop Rite has also sued to prevent a Super Wal Mart from opening in Linden.

So is a competitor suing here to prevent the Montvale location?

This is a major project -- The Shoppes at DePiero Farm -- and has been the focal point of much debate, litigation, etc.

It has been a "hot" and "controversial" topic/project from the moment this was even thought about. At every turn, there was something -- uproar from (some) residents, zoning, approvals, concerns, size, traffic, and so on.

I am not sure if a competitor is suing to prevent this supermarket from going in, but it would just be another hurdle of many in this project.
