Does she eat fish? Many restaurants will have at least one vegetarian, non-fish option. Usually it's a pasta dish though.

Perhaps an upscale pizza place would be good, like Without Papers, Pulcinella or Una. Or an Italian restaurant like Bonterra, where you could order with or without meat.

      How about Blink?

A couple of vegetarian main options.
Presumably enough dead animal options for the rest of your family.

As an aside, many restaurants would be happy to make an off-menu vegetarian offering given enough notice.

My vegetarian friends always enjoy Boxwood. Plenty of selection for all. But they don't take reservations. Also they close during the winter, but I'm not sure exactly what date.

January like River Café? Regardless I never noticed that Boxwood closed, ever. And they certainly aren't closed for ALL the winter so please don't imply that.

I second Blink, or in the same neighbourhood, Divino. For something a little more casual, I like Blue Star Diner.

Every decent resto will have something for vegetarians- a better q is places to avoid.

I just saw that Muse is going to offer a vegetarian tasting menu, which I'd like to try- because anybody can eat vegetarian.

thanks everyone. looks like I've made a list of places to try!

she doesn't each fish..vegetarian..but not vegan (oh.. and did I mention a fussy teenager) lol. She does want to go into culinary though so she needs to expand her horizons.

Most places are really good to us..but it does get tiresome if most of your options are always pasta!

My niece was a fussy teenage vegetarian years ago, but funny thing, chicken wings were a vegetable.
