late Thursday solo dinner near the W

  • 6

My flight gets in late and I'd rather not do room service if possible. Is there some place a solo diner can grab something delicious around 10p? I'll be at the W on 15th but don't mind walking.
TIA

  1. Central Michel Richard is a modern French brasserie that's about a 10 minute walk from the W.

I second Central Michel Richard, open until 10:30pm..... I suggest you call. Recommend the faux gras, eggplant gazpacho, bacon and onion tart, macaroni and cheese, pearl pasta risotto, fried chicken, short ribs, and the lamb shank.

Central will seat you even if you walk in at 10:25pm. The whole menu is available. Get the eggplant gazpacho, no kidding.

    2. I wouldn't necessarily describe everything on the menu as delicious, but Old Ebbitt Grill would be an option - open late and just up 15th St. Late night raw bar specials kick in at 11 and run till 1 am.

If you can get there before the kitchen closes at 10, Proof (near Verizon Center) is quite good.

      1. The Hamilton is open until the wee hours and is just around the block from the W.

        1. I realize you said you don't want to do room service but since you are staying at the W you should be aware that there is an amazing sandwich apparently ONLY on their room service menu. This club sandwich sounds great! http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/c...

But if you really don't want room service there are other options. The Hamilton is right next to your hotel, open late and good.

Central is also a good option, as is Bibiana (a slightly farther walk).

All these places are good for a solo diner because you can sit at the bar and have a great meal.
