Venice Restaurants

smuls32 Oct 1, 2013 08:51 AM

Will be in Italy for my honeymoon later this month. I am looking for some restaurant suggestions that won't break our budget. We want to go to nice restaurants as well, but they don't have to have any michelin stars. Fresh, local fare. Thanks in advance!!!

Here is a current thread on dining in Venice that should be of some help. Be aware dining in Venice can be relatively expensive for Italy.

If you go to the upper right-hand corner of this page and search for Venice, you should be able to access many past threads on Venice that should be of great use to you.

      Have a wonderful time!

        That is a good link.
Anyway, the Met is different but it's not real Venetian food. It's fancy modern style food, with many game dishes. And expensive.
Da Gianni is a good pizza/restaurant for lunch, but for dinner the same chef has a fancier restaurant a few meters away.
I forgot the name of the higher end place, but just ask Gianni. It was there I had a wonderful risotto with sepia.
Also, I recommend walking far from San Marco and find a small trattoria. I wish I could remember the name of one I found, where I had hand made lasagna. Two elderly women were making the noodles. It was the best lasagna I ever had.
