Uhhhh... December 28 is a Saturday and City Hall is not open for weddings...

December 28 is a Saturday, which may allow for more choices...

            Given the Monday problem:

Wonder if any of the fancy hotels downtown would be good (imagine a lovely space--just don't know re food).

Or see if someplace like R&G Lounge would do a Chinese banquet lunch in a private room.

Finally, if you're driving (as opposed to taxi-ing), you could even head over the (new) Bay Bridge for a lovely celebratory lunch @ Chez Panisse Cafe, which is open Monday's.

You are going to have to drive somewhere.

The most oft-suggested post-wedding lunches are Absinthe, Zuni, and Jardiniere are all closed on Mondays.

My suggestion would be to head to the financial district: Kokkari, Piperade, or Cafe Claude...

That's kind of a tough one. Most upscale places don't serve lunch and many of those that do are closed Mondays.

                Hayes St. Grill

Ah, I misread that as October 28. On a Saturday, Absinthe or Zuni.

The city's web site says wedding ceremonies at City Hall are Monday through Friday only.

And the rest of us mindlessly just went along w/ you! :)

                    I'd vote for Zuni!
