Mangal 2, Dalston, London

  • 2

The mixed mezze was undistinguished, but I loved the warm flatbread, a light crisp on the surface, and soft but also slightly chewy.

Kebabs were quite good, but what stood out was a superbly flavourful round of lamb. The lamb chops were very good, with savoury charred bits that contrasted the moist meat. Really enjoyed the bulgur pilaff - a good shading of tomato and onion, with a nutty wheaty flavour.

  1. Good to see the Dalston Turkish resturants getting a mention, my regular haunt is 19 Numara Bos Cirik. Love their warm onion and tomato salad, and the bread rubbed with meat

19 Numara is great. I still think the 'original' Arcola Street Mangal Ocakbisi is the best. Super fresh. Since I'm seeing a gig in Dalston tomorrow night I might have to pop in.
