[London] Rhodes 24

I see that Rhodes 24 has closed this weekend. This was the last of Gary Rhodes' restaurants in the UK. Such a shame for the man who was probably the first well known (and successful) pioneer of the "Modern British" style of cuisine.

  1. In this month's Delicious Magazine, there's a small article (which I found fairly demeaning) called, 'Where Are They Now?' The chefs included were Gary Rhodes, Jean Cristophe Novelli, and John Burton Race.

I think the answer is "doing telly".

Yes... exactly what I was thinking, although it's awhile since I've seen any of them doing anything. I think Novelli has a cooking school.

I liked Gary Rhodes - though he does come across as being extremely precise/methodical, and can appear a bit too overbearing sometimes:

      2. Harters funny to see this here as earlier today I'd gone to R24's website to book a lunch during my next trip to London and was disappointed to learn this.

In its place, a pop up by Anthony Demetre. I was just looking at the (limited) lunch menu.
