Steamed buns, breakfast (Chinese), near Elizabeth/Canal?

Relocating to NYC.

Just arrived at sublet and delighted to see I'm in the midst of noodle shops and dim sum.

But time is limited...

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good place for steamed buns (for a snack)? And anyplace for a nice breakfast with hot soy milk and yàuh ja gwái (copy and pasting here)? Or congee?

    You are right in the middle of the action - all you you have to do is take a walk.
