Unique Foodie Wedding Venue

My fiance and I are looking for a unique place to get married in Chicagoland in the spring of 2015. We are a food scientist/pastry chef and a homebrewing engineer who met in high school chemistry, so we want a place that represents us as nerdy, beer-loving foodies in love. The guest list will be in the 100-125 range. We've already checked out most of the breweries that advertise wedding venues (Revolution, Two Brothers, the Onion, Prairie Street Brewhouse) and haven't found a 'match'. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

  1. Check out Goose Island, www.gooseisland.com. Both brewpub locations have party rooms. I enjoy many of their brews, and by having been around for a long time, they'll have the experience you'll trust in planning your wedding. It won't be high on the foodie scale but still tasty, fun and casual. I don't know if others will agree, but I've never been blown away by food at large gatherings (I've had some bad banquet food, but I think it's just so hard to serve large groups that there is an upper limit unless at a top-tier restaurant), so I'd focus on the other aspects of the venue that appeal to you.

    1. My daughter's wedding (this past August) was at Bar Toma. It was more casual, to be sure, than your standard hotel-type affair, but had it's own kind of elegance and was definitely fun. Food was delicious. The staff (managers and servers) were beyond fabulous. Highly recommend.

      1. you might check out The Publican.
