Mushroom Foraging

I'm seeking somewhere to go mushroom foraging soon, however am newer to the Greater Seattle area. Would someone give me a general suggestion, I'm not seeking someone's 'secret spot', just looking for a great public forest area that is close to a sure deal. Anything within 1-1.5 hours is great!

    1. I have a friend who used to live very close to Lord Hill Regional Park in Snohomish, and says that he saw mushroomers there all the time in the fall. You might try that; I've never been.

Other than that, joining the Puget Sound Mycological Society and going on some of their forays would be a good idea. They also teach ID classes.

      1. For anyone who's interested, the Puget Sound Mycological Society is having a Wild Mushroom Show in October:
