Looking for a quasi sexy night out for dinner Saturday night

I don't feel like trekking into NYC but I want to have an interesting cocktail, some quasi-exotic or interesting food, but I have already done Chakra, Varka, Mantra etc..a thousand times. Anybody have any ideas of other places that have that vibe? I looked at Rare steakhouse in Little Falls, but it is a bit of a haul from Ridgewood. Any ideas? Has anyone been to any new places lately with a great bar scene and interesting atmosphere/food?

Sexy? Quasi-exotic or interesting food? The first thing that pops into my mind is Flirt (in Allendale).

I can't think of anything else that jumps out at me as "sexy" or "quasi-exotic" so to speak. Might be a reach, but what about the new place -- Sputino Wine Bar and Tapas (Clifton)? I could see calling it interesting, but not sexy or exotic, LOL. Just a new, different, interesting kind of place, getting very good reviews.

      By the way...might be a deal-breaker for you...Flirt is BYO...sorry.

How can a place be called "Flirt" and be a BYO? Who flirts sober?

Has the food at Spuntino improved? I've been pretty meh on most dishes I've had there (other than salumi/cheese plates) but must admit I haven't been there in a while.

Whoa that place looks cool - I have never heard of it! Thanks! Flirt would be totally perfect if it had a bar. Oh well..meanwhile i would travel to other towns like Hoboken, Hackensack, Rutherford, Englewood etc...if the place had the wow factor. Thanks guys!

They used to have other locations...even one in South Beach. I think this is the only one now.

A lot of people bring their own -- from wine to sake to other drinks, etc.

I just don't know if expanding your travel will find a lot of other places. Romantic? OK, maybe. But sexy? Exotic or interesting food? A tall order to fill.

I was trying to think of a place that had a lounge or a lounge-like atmosphere, couches, ambiance, mood, etc. One of the South City Grill Group's remake/additional locations was kind of like this (it closed quickly), it was in Little Falls, or somewhere around there.

I like the bar/lounge area at the Brick House, but it's not sexy. You can order off the bar menu -- which is good food, excellent burgers, very good wedge, etc. -- or the "dining room" menu, which is upscale, fine dining, etc. But it's not sexy. Not different food, but very good food.

              Any other ideas?

              Very good recommendation.

Between the ambiance, bar/lounge, etc. -- very good idea.

(Sear that is. Sorry, I occasionally mess up where I am posting, under, down, etc. LOL).

how about Bacari Grill in Washington Twp. Great bar, nice apps / small plates and I always, always have great service there.
