La Grenouille vs. Daniel

Which to Choose For a Birthday Dinner

  1. If it's your first time, you will probably like both. La Grenouille is truly classic, and Daniel is classic with a slightly modern touch. Both are my favorites.

Personally for myself though, I prefer Daniel to La Grenouille because Daniel keeps changing menu constantly and seasonally, whereas La Grenouille's menu has been the same for so~~~ long.

I like both too. But I give La Grenouille credit for sticking to the classic style. That style was kind of out of fashion for a while , but they stuck to their guns and still do a fabulous business.
If Lutece were still around that would still be my favorite.

Yes! Since I love classic French, I like La Grenouille very much too, as much as I loved Lutece. It's just that La Grenouille's menu has been remaining almost the same for years, and I go back only once or twice a year as a result.

On the other hand, I go back to Daniel every month to try their monthly/ seasonally changing menu. BTW, Daniel's seasonal game menu has come back. I fully enjoyed the Scottish Grouse with foie gras a couple days ago at Daniel! Its new executive pastry chef Ghaya Oliveira blows me away every time I go there too! She is the goddess for dessert lovers like myself! lol

I haven't been to Daniel in quite awhile. I think it's time to go back, Maybe in a couple of weeks for a special birthday

    2. Daniel- although its been years since i went to la grenouille the service at daniel was flawless, and felt more modern.
