Jumbo bottles of Italian liqueurs (Where????)

murphlaw152 Sep 21, 2013 07:38 PM

I am in charge of putting together a specific themed party and I am desperately trying to find 3-liter bottles of Averna, Aperol, and other Italian liqueurs. I know they exist...I've seen them. Question is: WHERE can I find them?! I have searched and searched and have been unsuccessful.

I am willing to travel outside of the city, so any suggestions are appreciated.

    Call Astor Wine ASAP!

Yeah, most likely a special order anywhere. Can't imagine anyone keeping such a large obscure item in regular stock. Might not even be available in the US - where did you see them?

Eataly has a lot of them, but they are not available for purchase and no one could tell me where to get them. I've also seen them in various wine/spirit shops over the years but never needed them until now. Of course, now that I need them I cannot find them.

I used to buy wine for a club in the village and I can tell you that something like that isn't sitting on a retailer's shelf in NYC. You'll have to have it brought in from an importer's warehouse which are mostly in NJ and not so far that you'll have to wait a long time for those bottles to arrive.
Astor is a good recommendation, so is Chambers Street Wines.

Have you tried calling La Cantina on Arthur Ave? Even if they don't have them in stock, if you are going for a special order, they might be able to get their hands on it more quickly than a more generalized supplier.
